Hey Everyone!
Start this week off with a bang by listening to the newest episode of Jane and Jesus, featuring Professor of Classics at Howard University, Dr. Anika Prather.
Karen and Dr. Prather focus their conversation around Jane Bennet, the eldest daughter of the Bennet family while also discussing classical literature, and how one balances being a person of grace and beauty, while also being a person who stands for what's right, true, and just.

Did You Know?
Like Elizabeth and Jane Bennet, Jane Austen was close to her sister, Cassandra. They wrote to each other almost every day and would share a bedroom, even when they could sleep separately. It’s no wonder that close sisters appear in so many of Austen’s novels. (Thanks to the folks at MentalFloss.com for this historical tidbit!)
Trivia Question of the Week
For what does Darcy mistake Jane's mild-mannered nature?

The Jane and Jesus Family
I think this has been my favorite episode so gar! As with the others, I will be listening to this a few more times until the next episode drops. Keep these coming!
As a really huge fan of Jane Bennet (my friends all know I think she's the secret heroine of the novel :) ), I was nervous about this episode. Just a few minutes in, I was nearly in tears at the love Dr. Prather showed to her son, her students, and the world in general, through her love of the words given to us through the classics. I thank you both for such a powerful tribute to the importance of knowing and loving people all through time and space. And also for doing Jane Bennet justice!
